Intellectual Property Rights are normally enforced through the Courts, but there are some opportunities for less expensive proceedings including some using the Patent Office.

In the UK there are two Court systems available for enforcing intellectual property rights: the High Court and the Patents County Court.  Detailed rules determine which Court system may be used.  The differences between the two systems are not as great as they once were.  Normally it is the more complex and commercially significant cases which use the High Court system.

Court proceedings are often very expensive.  The possibility does exist to take Legal Expenses Insurance.

The Partners of Brockwood Services have extensive experience of Intellectual Property Court proceedings.
